Abigail Culleton, 41, is a seasoned salon owner, leader, and coach with a career in the hair industry that began in 2005. In 2009, she opened her first salon, which laid the foundation for what would become The Boulevard Hair Company. In 2016, she and her team moved into their current flagship location in Webster Groves, Missouri. Later that same year, Salon Today magazine honored The Boulevard with the prestigious Salon of the Year award. In 2024, Abigail and her business partner, Sierra VanMeter, expanded with the opening of a second Boulevard location, further growing their impact in the St. Louis salon community. Today, the company is home to over 100 talented stylists.
Abigail and Sierra also co-own multiple businesses together. Their dynamic partnership thrives on balance—Abigail, known as an “idea factory,” constantly generates innovative concepts, while Sierra refines and tests those ideas until they become sustainable, lasting successes.
Raised in St. Louis, Abigail now lives with her family across the river in Illinois, where they’ve settled into what she calls their “beautiful slice of heaven.” Their home offers views of a lake, a farm, and the woods—“a little bit of everything Midwest, wrapped into one beautiful picture window.”
Abigail shares this life with her husband, Sean, a fire marshal, and their growing family. Together, they have four adopted children and are preparing to welcome a fifth this year—a calling that has become one of their deepest passions. Abigail and Sean believe adoption is kingdom work, and they hope more families will step into the adoption process. As she says, “These children didn’t choose the lives they came from, but we have the choice to give them the life they deserve—one where they can thrive.” Adoption has also transformed Abigail personally. Through her children, she has gained a patience she never knew before and a renewed joy in life’s simplest moments. They’ve taught her to release unnecessary stress and to embrace gratitude, laughter, and love in everyday experiences.
Abigail is equally passionate about leadership and coaching, investing deeply in the growth of her team at The Boulevard. She meets one-on-one with stylists and mentors associates through the company’s renowned associate program, which graduates 10–20 new stylists each year into successful careers.
Most importantly, Abigail’s faith is the cornerstone of her life. In 2019, she courageously overcame breast cancer, a trial she faced without any family history of the disease. She credits her healing and strength to her faith in Jesus Christ, her Savior, and shares His love whenever she has the opportunity. Her love for Scripture has also inspired a new project: she is currently co-authoring a 31-day devotional with six close friends titled She Speaks With Wisdom: A 31-Day Journey Through Proverbs With Good Friends. What began as a daily group text—sharing favorite verses, reflections, and encouragement—has grown into a book designed to let readers “chat along” with them through its pages. Abigail hopes it will inspire others to stay rooted in God’s Word and embrace the wisdom and knowledge He freely gives.
Her story reflects resilience, vision, and unwavering belief in the power of faith, family, and leadership.
